Fake News CNN slammed by Federal Judge over fake stories about hospital

On February 15th, a Federal Judge ruled that a defamation lawsuit against CNN has sufficient ground to move forward.

CNN is being sued for a series of fake news stories about a hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida. CNN filed multiple motions asking Federal Judge Orinda Evans to dismiss the suit. CNN’s motions were supported by an Amici Curiae filed by the GA Press Association, GA First Amendment Foundation, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, WAGA Fox 5, and the Motion Picture Association.

Judge Orinda Evans denied all of CNN’s motions to dismess, stating “The Court finds these allegations sufficient to establish that CNN was acting recklessly with regard to the accuracy of its report.” Evans also states that the plaintiff may have evidence of “malice.”
